About

The Natalia & Waliu Mufutau Foundation arose from a love for Nigeria and its people. Natalia and Waliu, as well as their three children Yacoob, Adam, and Kamil, have been assisting families all over the world in preserving their heritage and language. This foundation is a natural outgrowth of this basis. 

 

We believe that poverty and mental health problems should not be stigmatized and that those who work hard and do their best to lift themselves and their families out of it should be supported psychologically and financially. Investing in individual members of a community's education has a long-term impact on the entire community. Because in the long run, those individuals are enlightened about their responsibilities to give back to the community hence they return and contribute their own resources, including knowledge and experiences for the betterment of the community.

 

At NWM Foundation, we want to ensure this perceived long-term effect is realized soonest, we are kicking off this process as earnestly. Because if people living with poverty and mental health problems are stigmatized, the resulting effect on the community would be disastrous and devastating.

That is why, at NWM Foundation, we have made it our core objective to support; both psychologically and financially, those who are working hard and doing their best to lift themselves and their families out of their challenging financial and mental health problems

At NWMF, we want to invest in future generations. We believe that the best solutions come from the people, who were affected by the problem and successfully managed to solve it. Natalia and Waliu dedicated their time to giving back and created the network of such people to boost even further work with these communities — providing whatever support they need to unlock their potential. We want all individuals to envision their own goals and realize they can break the stigma within the communities/ families and make their dreams a reality.
